When I get home from work after spending an hour and a half in traffic, sometimes I just can’t be arsed sparking up the BBQ, two days ago was one of these days! So, while I was still in the mood for something grilled and delicious the old trusty cast iron griddle came out. Sometimes there is no need to complicate it, a grilled ribeye, creamy mash potato, Cajun corn and some pepper sauce(okay, I had some garlic butter too, I was feeling a bit gluttonous). What better way to watch meat searing and sizzling that drink a cold refreshing beer! My choice this evening was The 5 Lamps Brewery, Dublin Lager.
Light, refreshing and a good all-rounder to be enjoyed on its own or with grilled meat, fish and chips or shellfish.
It’s a another good entry for those new to craft beer as its not too harsh on the palate, I’ve given some people there first sip of an IPA and it was like giving a toddler a slice of lemon!
For sale in Aldi Ireland at the moment for €1.99 per 330ml can, this is great value for a good irish craft beer. Light and drinkable at 4.2% abv. Sláinte!
